THERE were 3871 sheep sold in the weekly sale at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, including 3474 store lambs.

Lambs are being sold off hill country stations but buyers remain cautious due to the current dry conditions.

However, prices appear to be firming for the larger store lambs.

There is continuing strong demand for all prime sheep at Matawhero.
