The heavy easterly swell that has battered the region's coastline this week is predicted to ease during today.
The MetService swell advisory yesterday pointed to waves of 3.5 to 4 metres south of Tolaga Bay but up to 4.5-5m in the north.
“For Friday, the swell is expected to ease
to between 2.5 and 3 metres everywhere, easing below the warning criteria in the morning,” the MetService said.
The wind and swells impacted on Eastland Port for several days earlier this week.
However, the logger Berge Jebel Jais was able to complete loading and departed on Wednesday.
