FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house in Karamu Street in Elgin last night after a neighbour heard smoke alarms going off inside the house and raised the alarm.
The call came in at about 9pm.
“The house had smoke in it that had been generated by the contents of a
toaster that had been overdone,” a senior firefighter said.
“There was no one home when we arrived at the house, so it was a case of unattended cooking.”
He said the fire caused no damage.
