AN update on the Olympic Pools Complex redevelopment will be presented at the Sustainable Tairawhiti meeting on March 18.
Gisborne district councillor Pat Seymour asked for an update during an operations committee meeting.
She noted “the opportunities group” who want changes to the design of the 50-metre pool had been
given until last November to find the additional funding required.
The group want to widen the pool and have a moveable floor to make it suitable for more water sports, including world surf lifesaving championship pool events.
Gisborne District Council chief executive Nedine Thatcher Swann said the council had been working with the group and an update would be presented to councillors on March 18.
