Sam Meech has made the most of light winds to improve his position at the 2013 Laser World Championships in Oman.
After second and eighth placed finishes, the Tauranga Yacht & Powerboat Club sailor is now the best placed of the New Zealand team in 11th position overall in aworld class fleet.
Andy Maloney and Thomas Saunders produced one excellent race apiece, and one less desirable. For Saunders, race seven becomes his discard.
Maloney is lying 15th overall after a 22nd and a fifth, while Saunders is in 17th after 44th and sixth placed finishes.
