Rangiuru continued their steamroller approach to the division one competition when they ran over cellar dwellers Ruatoki at Centennial Park in Te Puke. The 57-8 victory reflected the attitude of a team desperate to return to the premier ranks next season.
While Kahukura posted their eighth straight win it wasn't convincing as they held off Te Teko 30-29.
Paroa cemented their second place in the standings with a strong performance beating Marist St Michaels 51-5 in the Eastern Bay.
Mount Maunganui Colts had little trouble cementing their place at the top of the table, with a comprehensive 65-7 win against Whakarewarewa at Blake Park. Fellow Western Bay championship contenders Tauranga Sports waltzed away from Opotiki 95-0 while Te Puna thumped Kahukura 63-0.
