Tauranga Sports should wrap up the Seeka KI Western BOP first round title in the last round of round robin play on Saturday when they meet Rangiuru at Centennial Park in Te Puke.

The Tauranga Sports second XV have dropped just one match (to Rangataua) during the season and have posted 341 points during their first 10 games. While Rangiuru made a strong start to the local competition with three straight victories, they have fallen off the pace and sit outside the top six.

With defending first round title holders, Tauranga Sports, along with Arataki, Rangataua and Mount Maunganui having booked berths in the top six to contest the Seeka KI Western BOP Championship, Judea and Matakana Island need to win on the weekend to guarantee top-six berths.

Judea are at home to Te Puna at Maharia Winiata Park with Matakana Island hosting Te Puke Sports on the Island.

While the formbook would suggest that Judea may prove too strong for Te Puna, the blue and black brigade have posted a couple of real upsets during the season. They provided second placed Arataki with their first defeat of the season and last weekend made all the running to beat Katikati 43-27.

Matakana Island are another team to run hot and cold, however, a home venue against Te Puke Sports will give the Island side plenty of vocal local support.

Hardy Rosebowl (WBOPRFS Challenge Trophy) holders Rangataua will face a stern challenge from Arataki, to retain the long-time Western Bay prize. While Rangataua have been the big improver in this year's competition, Arataki have Baywide aspirations on their agenda and are difficult to dislodge at home at Grenada Park.

The Western BOP Colts trophy is on the line again with holders Te Puke Sports squaring off against Te Puna. The game has been rescheduled for tonight under lights at Murray Salt Stadium.
