What a difference a week makes.
After three rounds of lacklustre performances by the Waikato teams in the Waicoa Bay premiere competition, four of the seven Waikato sides bared their teeth and gave Rotorua, Tauranga and Taupo a lesson in how to play league at the weekend.
Last year's champions Otumoetai are
still licking their wounds from their 22-6 drubbing by Turangawaewae on their home turf.
Ngongotaha coach Damian White will be resisting any urge to go away again on business anytime soon after his team were dealt to by a rampant Ngaruawahia side 38-18.
As for Taupo Phoenix, they will be wondering what struck them after being on the receiving end of a good old-fashioned hiding in Huntly from Taniwharau 44-24.
Hukanui fans will celebrating dragging themselves off the bottom of the points table with a resounding win over College Old Boys 40-16 in Hamilton.
The only bright point for league fans east of the Mamaku/Kaimai Ranges was Pikiao chalking up another win, although that was at the expense of the Tauranga Whalers.
Tauranga supporters weren't too happy shelling out hard-earned cash to watch their team capitulate to their Rotorua neighbours in a 40-18 loss.
However, it's a new week and it appears anything can happen in this competition.
Tauranga Whalers will take on Otumoetai at Grenada Park tomorrow, with both teams wanting to make amends for last weekend's fiasco.
A gambling man would probably put his money on Otumoetai as it appears they would have the better form out of the two teams, although you can never rule out a spirited performance from the Whalers.
Central will take on Hamilton Hornets at Puketawhero Park and will be looking to put aside their nightmare performance against the Tigers and get their season back on track.
Although Hornets should be well rested after having the bye last week and keen to get their first win of the season.
Pacific travel to Tokoroa to take on a confident Taniwharau at Memorial Park.
You'd have to give Taniwharau the favourites tag because of the win last week and Pacific coming off a bye and a loss in Round 3 to Ngaruawahia.
Taupo Phoenix host Pikiao at Hickling Reserve and the home team will be hard pressed to hold back a rampant Pikiao forward pack.
The must-see match for Hamilton league fans would have to be Hukanui versus Hamilton City Tigers.
Both teams are brimming with confidence after their big wins.
In another Hamilton derby, Turangawaewae take on College Old Boys.
It should be a one-sided affair with the Old Boys struggling to stop teams scoring 40 or more points against them.
The two teams that must count themselves unlucky are Ngongotaha and Ngaruawahia who again find they have drawn early round byes which must make it hard for them to find any consistency.
All premiere games kick off at 2.30pm.
