First and last place have been wrapped up heading into the final regular season round of the Bayfair Baywide premier club rugby competition - but that is about all.

Just five points separate third-placed Mount Maunganui and sixth-placed Te Puna, so there are sure to be frantic fans at grounds with cellphones at the ready tomorrow afternoon.

Opotiki's clash with Greerton Marist is basically a quarter-final, the winner virtually assured of a spot in the semifinals.

Opotiki hold a one-point advantage going into the game, but Marist won the corresponding fixture 26-15 in week nine, so hold the advantage should the match be drawn and they are the only team to pick up a four-try bonus point.

A low-scoring draw would work in Opotiki's favour, unless Te Puna run amok against Whakarewarewa.

Opotiki will likely need to play for the win, as Te Puna sit just two points behind on 44 competition points, hoping the two teams directly above them on the table play each other to a stalemate.

The men of Maramatanga Park will need to take five points out of their game with Whakarewarewa at Puarenga Park to be any chance of qualifying for the semifinals, and hope Opotiki and Marist cannot be separated after 80 minutes.

Rotoiti's spirited run towards the playoffs has fallen just short, but they will be looking to go out in style against Paroa at Lawson Park.

Te Puke Sports' match with Mount Maunganui will have a large influence on how positions in the top four finish. A Te Puke win would earn them a home semifinal, while a Mount win - bonus points notwithstanding - would mean one of the two semifinals will be at Blake Park.

Rangataua have a final-round match-up with Tauranga Sports after ensuring their survival in the top flight with three wins in their last four matches.

Division One

Rangiuru are assured of top seeding in the Division One playoffs ahead of their final round match with fourth-placed Waikite at Centennial Park.

Waikite likely need at least a draw to hold on to fourth place with Te Teko looming two points behind with a match against last-placed Ruatoki in hand.

Poroporo could draw level on points with Rangiuru should they earn five points against Marist St Michael's and the competition losers fail to pick up any points against Waikite, but Rangiuru won both matches between the sides this year so hold the upper hand.

Kahukura have already booked their place in the semifinals and will finish off their regular season campaign against Katikati at Moore Park.

Whakatane Marist will play Ngongotaha at Rugby Park to sort out the placings in the middle of the table.

Bayfair Baywide club rugby draw, July 20, Premiers (All games to start at 2.45pm):

Paroa v Rotoiti (Lawson Park 1)

Opotiki v Greerton (Princess Street Reserve 1)
