Hockey All of our teams got a chance to play another friendly match on Friday evening at Blake Park, despite the atrocious playing conditions with the heavy rain and the wind. The girls' yellow team had a great battle playing against Bethlehem's A girls team. Bethlehem scored the only goal with 10 minutes to go for a 0-1 result. The girls showed fantastic teamwork with every player contributing. Paige Taylor was a strong presence in midfield and Sophie Walsh showed excellent skills. Ashleigh Cornwell fought hard on defence and was named player of the day. The black team had two draws with Bethlehem College. The team played showed great potential. The boys' green team played against the Bethlehem College blue team and due to the weather and the flooding of the top port turf, their friendly game was reduced to 25 minutes one way. The boys took an early lead with Alfie Shum scoring a great goal, but the Bethlehem side managed to score two goals against us. The team showed great promise for the rest of the season. The red team is playing well with a mixture of experienced and new players. The team played very well against Omokoroa despite a 1-0 loss. Our girls' green team went down 2-0 to Tauranga Intermediate.
