A full-strength Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic side head south to take on Canterbury Tactix tomorrow.

Midcourter Jess Tuki, who has been out with a back injury - a small tear in her lower disc - has been cleared to take the court this week after being sidelined for a few rounds and defenders Casey Williams and Leana de Bruin are also fine to play.

Williams and her "niggly" ankles were rested in the last round as a precaution although she took the court for the final 10 minutes against Central Pulse when de Bruin was forced off when her calf started seizing up.

Coach Noeline Taurua is rapt to have all options open to her for round eight of this year's ANZ Championship.

Magic's form has been building in recent weeks after a bad four-loss start to the competition and another win is vital.

While Taurua isn't keen to get caught up in what might happen, there's no doubt Magic are creeping into play-off possibilities after finally finding some form and that makes tomorrow's match-up against Tactix an important one to win.

A big win would give Magic's goal differential a much-needed boost should the top four for the play-offs come down to a numbers game, as has happened in previous seasons.

"It's fantastic to be back at full strength this week, that really gives us plenty of option," Taurua said.

"A big win would definitely be a bonus but we're not going into this game thinking that way or worrying about the scoreline.

"We're just working towards putting out a better product than the previous game," she said.

After their win over Fever in round seven, Adelaide Thunderbirds have moved to the top of the table on goal differential, ahead of Vixens, who suffered their first loss in the last round, falling to Swifts.

Thunderbirds and Vixens, with a loss each, are now on 12 points, with Northern Mystics, who have five wins from seven matches, in third spot on 10.

Swifts, with eight points, round out the top four heading into the eighth round.

Both Magic and Queensland Firebirds sit on six points, followed by Southern Steel, West Coast Fever and Central Pulse who all have four, with Tactix sitting at the bottom of the table on two points.

The top four looks unlikely to change this round with the Thunderbirds unlikely to lose to Pulse and Swifts likely to topple Fever.

The big match of the round will be the Mystics versus Vixens clash, although the outcome won't see either dropping out of the top four.

Taurua is pretty happy with how her team are tracking, with some "beautiful and skilful" plays now coming more frequently and Magic seemingly building by the game.

"We're starting to see more of those classy, Magic moments now," Taurua said.

"There's still room for improvement but we're seeing things every week to build on and our intentions in this competition haven't changed."

Tomorrow Magic will play Tactix for the second time this season.

Last time, in Rotorua in round five, Magic won 61-52 and they'll be looking to improve on that tomorrow afternoon in Christchurch.

In other matches this weekend, Swifts play Fever, Mystics will take on Vixens and Steel are up against Firebirds, all on Sunday.

Thunderbirds will take on Pulse on Monday night.
