Mount Maunganui surfers dominated the 2012 National Primary School Surf Championships in New Plymouth.
The competition wrapped up yesterday with Mount Maunganui surfers taking out the boys and girls finals.
Mount surfer Kehu Butler dominated the days proceedings with the highest heat score in the semifinals before he went onto win the final and defend his title.
The girls final battle was between four Mount Maunganui competitiors Kea Smith, Maaia-Reid Bennett, Tiana-Breeze de Mooj and Raiha Ensor.
Kea Smith defended the title she won in Gisborne in 2011 with an excellent display of backhand surfing.
