Mount Maunganui, who have grabbed the lead in the Western Bay of Plenty reserve grade standings for the first time this season, will want to continue their momentum against Tauranga Boys' College tomorrow.

Last weekend in a round of surprises, the Mount representatives provided the then joint competition leaders Sangha (Raavi) with a cricket lesson.

After dismissing the Sangha first XI for 119, they coasted to victory with seven wickets in hand.

Tauranga Boys' College moved to fifth in the first-round competition when they beat Te Puke in a rain-affected match ultimately decided by calculators.

Their first-innings score of 202 showed they have plenty of batting talent.

One week ago, Katikati were joint leaders with an unbeaten record alongside Sangha (Raavi).

In the weekend of upsets, both sides tasted defeat, but will have the opportunity for redemption when they meet at Fergusson Park.

Greerton, lying in fourth position, square off against Cadets at the Tauranga Domain, with Sangha (Anna) and Te Puke meeting at Fergusson three.

The B Grade competition is led by Wanderers and Katikati, who have posted two wins since the season started.

Katikati are at home at the Uretara Domain in Katikati against Albion, with Wanderers drawing the bye.

In other second-echelon matches, Greerton face Cadets, with Mount Masters at home at Blake Park against defending champions Grasshoppers.
