The continued development of young Bay of Plenty cricket talent takes another step forward when Bay of Plenty Development XI play their Hawke's Bay counterparts at Owen Delaney Park in Taupo tomorrow.

While the game is considered a non-competition "friendly" encounter, the match is the opportunity to introduce four further talented youngsters to the challenges of district level cricket. Harrison Perry, Josh Ormrod, Tom Renouf and Mikaere Leef will be making their entrance into senior representative cricket for the first time.

"Continuing to build depth is a key part of ensuring Bay of Plenty continues to be a leading district association," Bay of Plenty Cricket manager, Tai Bridgman-Raison, said.

"The fixture against Hawke's Bay is an ideal opportunity to expose our younger players to inter-district cricket. Taupo is the ideal venue for the encounter being halfway between the two provinces and also providing high quality wickets at Owen Delaney Park."

The Bay of Plenty XI includes Yorkshire county opener Alex Lees who has been brought here for the rest of the summer by Bay of Plenty Cricket.
