Te Puke Table Tennis Club opens its season on Monday night at Te Puke Intermediate School gym.
The club is open to all ages and is social. A draw after each round of games ensures everyone is getting a fair game.
Children under 12 will need to be supervisedby a guardian at all times. There is a cost of $3 per adult and $2 per child 15 years and under, per night. Bats are available if needed.
The club runs games from 7pm to about 9.30pm.
Last year was very successful, considering it was the first year. Depending on numbers, organisers are considering affiliating to the New Zealand and Bay of Plenty associations. Joining would enable competitive players to enter tournaments and chase higher honours in the sport.
The club was delighted to be sponsored two international regulation tables by stalwarts Kay Graham and John Crowley. This meant, during last year, some top quality players attended and will be returning this winter. I
