Firefighters and power workers are attending to a downed power line in Merivale, Tauranga.

A worker in the area said one line was "dangling down" outside the Merivale Community Centre, near the intersection of Fraser St and Kesteven Ave.

There was no traffic interruption and people were still being allowed to walk through the area, he said.

Powerco has no power cuts in Tauranga listed on its website.
