Traffic is expected to be slower at peak times and drivers should anticipate delays.
Traffic on the Te Puke Highway will be impacted by reduced speed when passing the works, to 50km/h for a 200m-300m section.
Pipeline surveying (known as potholing and hydrovaccing) has started.
Traffic management will be in place along Te Puke Highway and Welcome Bay Rd when needed at this stage. Contractor HEB is working with the traffic management team to minimise delays in travel and disruption to the access of properties.
Construction will enter Welcome Bay Rd to the left of 1222 Welcome Bay Rd (Papamoa Kennels) and will cross over here then follow the eastern side of the road.
