A Rotorua man was allegedly hit on the head, tied up and gagged at his Glenholme house after allowing two young women inside.
It is believed the two women, thought to be in their 20s, assaulted the man yesterday afternoon with a frying pan before stealing his car, which was
loaded up with hundreds of dollars worth of his possessions.
Holland St resident Tina Hesketh was alerted after she heard car doors slamming outside the man's house. She walked outside to check what was happening when the man, who had freed himself, ran to her and asked her to call police.
"His face was covered in blood. [He] said he knew one of them and let them in. Then they gagged him and tied him up."
She understood they hit him on the head with a frying pan before robbing him.
