A woman has been hit by a car in central Tauranga.
A witness said a car was backing out of a parking space outside Noel Leeming on Second Avenue when it hit a pedestrian walking past.
A police spokeswoman said they were advised by St John ambulance at 11.58am thata vehicle had hit a pedestrian on Second Ave, described as being near Noel Leeming.
"The pedestrian was reported to have moderate head injuries and was to be transported to Tauranga Hospital," she said.
