A woman has been hit by a car in central Tauranga.
A witness said a car was backing out of a parking space outside Noel Leeming on Second Avenue when it hit a pedestrian walking past.
A police spokeswoman said they were advised by St John ambulance at 11.58am that
a vehicle had hit a pedestrian on Second Ave, described as being near Noel Leeming.
"The pedestrian was reported to have moderate head injuries and was to be transported to Tauranga Hospital," she said.
The witness said the woman went "flying back".
