The Tauranga branch of the New Zealand School of Radio are giving away a free return ticket to Sydney for an on-air competition named Great Sydney Catch Up.
Student Mike Wilson said the purpose of the competition was to send someone from Tauranga to catch up with their friends across the
ditch.
"We didn't want to do another mediocre promotion ... and we didn't really want it to be another competition for people who want to go to Sydney, this competition is for one person who's stuck in Tauranga to go to Sydney and see their mates."
From 12-1pm tomorrow, radio students will be outside Flight Centre on Devonport Rd taking entries for the competition.
To enter, you must turn up and get your photo taken pulling the most ugly, ghastly picture, Mr Wilson said.
"Everyone can pull a face but we want to see makeup and people really going to an effort to have the worst photo."
Once entrants have had their photo taken, the winner will be drawn by staff at Flight Centre, which had supplied the prize.
