Tauranga solicitor Sam Curtis was in the White Ferns team that enjoyed an emphatic nine-wicket, one-day win over South Africa yesterday.
Beaten by four wickets in the second ODI, the White Ferns bounced back in Kimberley as Holly Huddleston claimed 5-25 to restrict the hosts to 188-9 with Dane vanNiekerk offering the only resistance with an unbeaten 78.
In reply, skipper Suzie Bates (82no) and Amy Satterthwaite (89no) combined in a 174-run stand for the second wicket as the tourists romped home in the 34th over.
The win moves New Zealand into third place on the ICC's Women's Championship table, equal on points with second-placed West Indies but behind on net run rate.
The final standings will be decided in the next round, when New Zealand host Pakistan next month.
Overall honours for the South Africa series remain alive, with four further ODIs scheduled. The next match is at Paarl's Boland Park late on Monday (NZT).
