Forecasters are predicting a wet start to the school holidays for the Bay as a band of rain makes its way up the country from today.
MetService have forecast showers and occasional heavy rain for Tauranga beginning tomorrow and developing throughout this weekend into next week.
As a trough makes its way onto the North Island on Friday, it is expected to slow down as a low begins to form northwest of the country, causing rain to last from Saturday in the northern regions.
Next Monday will kick off the beginning of the school holidays with a short break in the rain before consecutive days of showers and wind sets in.
