Two crashes occurred in Tauranga this afternoon, one clogging up traffic at the busy intersection of Fraser St and 15th Ave, the other resulting in a car hurtling down a bank.
Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Holmes said three cars were involved in a crash on Turret Rd in central Tauranga about 3pm, which created a snarl-up of traffic to the avenues intersection.
No one is believed to have been badly injured.
This crash followed another on State Highway 29, on the Tauranga side of Kaimai School.
About 2.40pm a vehicle containing four teenagers left the road and rolled down a bank, coming to rest about two metres below the road.
Mr Holmes said this vehicle was written-off but the three males and one female, aged 18 and 19-years-old, all walked away with minor injuries, one suffering an asthma attack at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash but said the teens were breath-tested and alcohol was not considered to be a factor.
It was not believed the vehicle was exceeding the 100km/hr speed limit the time.
