About 60 lengths of timber has been stolen from the Eastern Link project area last night.

Bay of Plenty Police posted on their Facebook page saying around 60 lengths of 4.8 metre long tongue and groove timber was taken near the corner of the Papamoa highway and Kairua Road.

Police also say at least two people would have been needed and a large truck or trailer required to shift the timber from site.

Police are seeking any knowledge about the theft and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact Papamoa Police on 572 244 or anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
