A street brawl in Lyn Grove, what will be included in Bayfair Shopping Centre's $115 million development and a tribute to a car crash victim were among this week's most read stories.
Police were called toa street brawl at Lyn Grove in Papamoa on December 10 after reports of gunshots and at least one person hit by a car. Papamoa residents were left picking over the damage the following day and a 54-year-old woman struck by a car during the fight said she was trying to defend her children.

Police arrested a man after a woman was stabbed in Mount Maunganui. The woman was stabbed in Nikau Cres shortly before 6.30pm on December 13. Police said a woman had received "moderate" injuries and a knife had been found.

When the family of Papamoa man Adrian Carlisle Hetet were dealing with his tragic death, they found some solace in seeing how much he was loved by those who knew him. Hetet, 43, died in a car crash near the intersection with Omanawa Rd in the Kaimais on October 28. He had been travelling back from Putaruru with his wife and 10-year-old son.
