The Hits radio station will make its way onto Coromandel airwaves on December 1 - just in time for summer.

NZME is launching The Hits, featuring some of the country's best broadcasting talent, with Sarah, Sam and Toni at breakfast and Stace and Flynny on the afternoon drive show, on five frequencies around the region,

The Hits content director Todd Campbell is excited to bring the station to the Coromandel just in time for a classic Kiwi summer.

"We're sure listeners will love tuning in to our fantastic line-up of presenters and the biggest hits from the 90s til now around the BBQ this summer," Campbell said.

The Hits will be available on 100.3FM in Pauanui, Tairua and Whangamata, 107.1FM in Thames and 106.9FM in Whitianga.

"Local companies will now be able to reach listeners all over the Coromandel, throughout the day."

"We are also delighted to bring a new local day show to our audience between 9am and 3pm weekdays. "
