Part of the Tauranga Hospital car park will be closed for a week.

From Monday, January 11, one section of the Cameron Rd, Patient/Visitor car park will be coned off. It will re-open on Monday, January 18.

Due to the pressure on the Cameron Rd carpark, people are urged to use the Clarke St car park instead when coming to hospital.

Bay of Plenty District Health Board Chief executive Phil Cammish said he wanted patients and visitors to try Clarke St first rather than driving round and round the Cameron Rd car park.

"There is a lift which connects the car park to the hospital and the Clarke St car park can be accessed from either 17th or 20th Avenues."

There were always empty spaces, so is a good first choice for patients and visitors, Mr Cammish said.
