It's not lost on Tauranga bride Amy Bell, 22, that she and husband-to-be Joshua Archibald, 20, will share their wedding anniversary with one of the world's most famous couples.

"My grandmother and her family are from England, so my aunts keep reminding me about it," she said with a laugh.

"They're planning to go straight from my wedding to watching the royal wedding on TV."

The pair, who met while studying, will marry at the Bethlehem College chapel this afternoon followed by a reception and Mills Reef Winery after two years of dating.

As Windsor Castle was an important part of Prince Harry's family history, so too was the college a part of hers: "My granddad founded Bethlehem College, so it seemed fitting."

That's where the similarities with the royals will end, however, with the couple - she working in early childhood and he with technology - expecting 130 guests (2000-plus for the royals) and feeling most nervous about "being the centre of attention".

"I imagine that's the opposite for them."
