There have been plenty of pumpkin soup recipe suggestions at Moffat Rd's Decor Gardenworld, which is proudly displaying a monstrosity of a pumpkin.
Weighing in at a whopping 392.8kg, this moon pumpkin has taken the regional title for the biggest in the Bay.
Decor Gardenworld director Ginny Clark said she thinks it
could well be the largest in the country too.
"We had one two years ago that was 286.5kg and we though that was enormous, but this has superseded it by about 110kg."
Mark Briengan entered the beasty vegetable in the store's annual pumpkin competition, held at the weekend.
A forklift was required to remove it from the trailer it arrived on.
Mr Briengan said it took only 100 days for the vegetable to grow from a flower to a monster pumpkin.
"You've got to dig yourself a big hole ... and chuck a whole lot of chook manure and some chemical fertilisers in it, then just let it grow," Mr Briengan said. He will tour other competitions in the region before feeding it to his cattle.
In October, Decor Gardenworld gave free pumpkins seeds to encourage people to enter in the competition.
