State Highway 2 will be closed to traffic through Katikati and Te Puke this Saturday during the towns' annual Christmas parades, the NZ Transport Agency says.

The Katikati closure will be in place from 2pm until 4.30pm, with detours via Beach Rd, Wills Rd and Tetley Rd open to all traffic.

The Te Puke closure will be in place from 10am until 2pm, with detours through Cameron Rd, Queen St and Oxford St.

The Te Puke detours are suitable for all traffic except HPMV trucks, which will be stacked on the highway until the parade is over.
