Marist St Michael's have been promoted to the Baywide Premier 2 competition due to Paroa Rugby Club being unable to field a development team.
Following a meeting with their players last night, Paroa informed the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union they would not be able to field a team in
the Premier 2 development competition.
Bay of Plenty Rugby Union rules states a club must field a development team to be eligible to field a Premier team.
Bay of Plenty Rugby Union has now invited Marist St Michael's Rugby Club to join the Baywide Premier 2 competition as the next highest ranked team.
Paroa's top team will be relegated into the Baywide Division 1 competition.
