Kids competing in the Sanitarium Weet-Bix TRYathalon this weekend will be cheered on by New Zealand's top cycling and triathalon talents.

World Champion and Olympic cyclist Alison Shanks, World Champion and Olympic BMX Silver Medallist Sarah Walker and Xtrerra World Champion, NZ Cross Triathlon and Xtrerra Champion Olly Shaw will be at the event at Memorial Park on Sunday, February 23 to inspire and support participants.

The general manager for Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company, Pierre van Heerden, said the athletes epitomise the event spirit.

"We know our young athletes of the future will be excited to see them cheer them on."

Children hoping to compete are encouraged to register online at try.weetbix.co.nz before Thursday to solidify their spot as entry numbers are limited.
