A huge thank you to everyone that approached us with offers of a dryer following last week's article, we were overwhelmed with calls, and a very kind lady whom went straight to a local appliance store in town and purchased a new 6kg dryer with the only condition that we could pick the dryer up; as you can imagine this was no problem at all.
We also accepted the kind offer of another dryer as a backup in case the need arises to use two with the coming wet weather. Subsequently we now have happy animals with warm dry blankets and happy volunteers and staff who have struggled with the never ending wet washing.
On a different note, I would like to mention the ever increasing numbers of puppies we have at the moment, we continue to be intrigued as to where these puppies are deriving from, as we believe that the majority of the public are responsible pet owners who have had their forever pet neutered but alas we have no other explanation as to the appearance of these puppies other than somewhere out there is still a large amount of unneutered animals.
We cannot stress to you enough the importance of having your pet neutered; the risk you take is too high, one day your faithful friend will escape from your back yard when your back is turned and before you know it a number of little puppies may be on your doorstep.
We pray you do the responsible thing and try to re-home them yourself or you may end up at our doorstep in the hope we will take them.
These trips often end in tears as we already have full cages.
If you have friends or family members who have an unneutered pet, please support them in changing this.
We continue to believe the majority of you are responsible and we appreciate this as it makes our work a lot easier enabling us to focus on the animals truly in need.
We currently have 11 very cute 8 -9 week old lab cross puppies, two adorable staffy x puppies and a number of older puppies available for adoption - please make us your first choice and give an animal in need the home it deserves.
