Police and ambulance are at the scene of a serious two car crash in Mount Maunganui.
12:18pm: An elderly man is being taken to hospital after a medical event cased him to crash into a parked car.
Acting shift commander Sergeant Tristan Murray said the 85-year-old man had suffered some sort of medical event causing him to collide with a parked car.
He was in aserious condition and was being looked over by St John staff. He will be taken to Tauranga Hospital.
The police serious crash unit were also at the scene.
