Tauranga West remain unbeaten after four rounds of the Tai Mitchell tournament being played in Rotorua.

In the three rounds played over the weekend, Tauranga West beat their main rivals for the title, Rotorua Maroon 20-12, then had a tough match with Te Puke, which they won 39-26. They finished the day with a 46-7 victory over Rotorua West.

Tauranga East had 41-5 wins over Rangitaiki and Opotiki, but were held to a 22-22 draw by Rotorua Maroon.

Te Puke had that 26-39 loss to Tauranga West but two good wins over Apanui 50-0 and Galatea 46-10.

The tournament continues until finals on Wednesday at the Rotorua International Stadium.
