A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said firefighters were assisting at the scene and were expected to be there until a tow truck arrived.
She said there was some damage to the house.
The cause of the crash was not known.
In a written statement, Sam Fellows, Tauranga City Council's manager of Sustainability and Waste said the council was "still working to understand the full details of exactly what happened".
"Thankfully no one has been injured, but this is obviously a distressing situation for those living in the house, neighbours and the driver.
"Our thoughts are with everyone involved and we will continue to investigate the situation and provide support where we can."
