A 49-year-old Rotorua man is in a serious condition in Tauranga Hospital's intensive care unit following a motorbike crash on the Te Puke Highway over the weekend.

Two people were injured in a crash reportedly involving two motorbikes on Saturday at 11.20am on the Te Puke Highway.

Yesterday Bay of Plenty District Health Board communications manager Diana Marriott said the man remained in a critical condition but this morning has confirmed he is now in a serious condition.
