Easter is a public holiday and the perfect excuse to head away for the weekend for many people, but locals are being asked to remember the true meaning of Easter by experiencing the Bethlehem Baptist Church Easter Journey - a multi-sensory walk-through display depicting the Easter story.
The Easter Journey
is an interactive, multi-media, personal walk-through presentation that describes the events leading up to, and after, the three days of Jesus' death and resurrection - days that we call Easter.
Volunteers have spent months painting, repairing, moulding and crafting props and rehearsing to tell the story of Jesus. This year's display has a few surprises, including a 30m mural and a children's puppet show.
The Easter Journey runs from today to April 1 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 90 Bethlehem Rd, Bethlehem, Thursday 3-9pm, Friday to Sunday, 9am-6pm, and Monday 8.30am-noon.
Entry is by gold-coin donation. Visit www.easterjourney.co.nz.
