Four people ran from police after a chase ended in a crash in Papamoa tonight.
About 7.45pm, a suspicious-looking car was spotted by police near the Papamoa shopping centre and police signalled for it to stop.
The driver failed to do so and police followed the fleeing vehicle for a
short time.
The car later crashed into a tree on Waimarama Rd, off Oriental Parade, and the four people that were in the car fled.
Police said inquiries were underway to locate the four people.
