The moment a burglar smashed his way through a glass entrance to a Papamoa shop has been caught on camera.

The offender can be seen wearing sunglasses, black hoodie, grey shorts and sneakers as he surveys the area in front of Unichem Pharmacy at Golden Sands, Papamoa.

Sergeant Tristin Murray said the offender used a rock to smash a window before running into the store on Saturday, September 23.

The offender allegedly stole a small quantity of over-the-counter medicine from the pharmacy, Mr Murray said.

Police would like to hear from anyone who recognises the offender. People can contact Papamoa police on 07 573 0500 or provide information anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
