Photo's location still a puzzler as Te Puke link sunk

The mystery continues around the location of the photograph donated to The Elms.

It was thought the mystery had been solved when Elaine McNaughton identified the photo as the area now occupied by the Te Puke Holiday Park.

However, additional photographic evidence has shown the house Mrs McNaughton believed to be the one in the mystery photo was too old.

Elms receptionist Audrey King also received phone calls from two separate men who said they used to visit the house at Te Puke and it was not the same as the one in the mystery photo.

"They went into great detail," she said.

Despite the mystery deepening, Ms King said they would not give up.

She said she had two leads to investigate at the library, including a clue from a Rotorua historian who is convinced the house was on Cliff Rd.

"We'll get there," Ms King said.
