The Bay of Plenty Times Person of the Year 2014 will be revealed in tomorrow's Bay of Plenty Times Weekend.

The morning paper will feature the supreme winner, as chosen by the judging panel, and the people's choice winner, as voted by the public.

The finalists were Carrus managing director Paul Adams; Youth Development Foundation's Dan Allen-Gordon; Wish 4 Fish founder Bryce Dinneen; iwi leader Buddy Mikaere; hero cop Adrian Oldham; neighbourhood watch co-ordinator Lance Scullin (posthumously); Blokes day out organiser Lindsay 'Red' Smith; and businesswoman and charity organiser Michelle Whitmore.

The finalists gathered with their family and friends, judges and special guests at a presentation ceremony at the Bay of Plenty Times this week, where the two winners were awarded their titles.

The judging panel consisted of Bay of Plenty Times editor Scott Inglis, The Hits radio presenter Will Johnston; and Olympic swimmer, Commonwealth Games silver medallist and Tauranga swimming instructor Liz van Welie.
