Person killed on SH2 near Paengaroa

UPDATE: Police have blocked off part of State Highway 2 from the intersection of State Highway 33 and Wilson Rd South near Paengaroa.

One person has died after being hit by a truck on SH2.

A reporter at the scene said fire services and police are still at the scene.

UPDATE One person has died after being hit by a truck near Paengaroa on State Highway 2.

Sergeant Cam Anderson confirm one person had died at the scene just south of the Te Puke Golf Club.

Mr Anderson said police and serious crash investigation units are still investigating further.

EARLIER: Reports have come in of a person hit by a vehicle near Paengaroa tonight.

Police are currently responding to the incident on State Highway 2 south of Te Puke.

A northern communications spokesman said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and the serious crash investigation unit are also responding to the incident.
