Ying Song is busy sanding down doors in the living space, using a high-tech piece of American equipment that sucks up every speck of dust.
All the interior windows are covered in light sheets of plastic and the smell of paint lingers. Kitchen cupboards and appliances remain in their packagingand cords snake underneath drop sheets.
An iPod that rests on a 10-litre bucket of undercoat has been muted.
Dressed in overalls, Ms Song said she loved her job.
The 38-year-old had been a painter and decorator for four years and liked being part of the creative process.
