My home is a haven, and I always try to fill the house with laughter. I look out on a beautiful reserve and it's in a nice, quiet cul-de-sac in Windermere.

I love the swinging chair down the bottom of the property. It's my reflection space. When I sit there, I think of all the things I am grateful for. I try to come up with at least 10 things, big and small, every day.

"I love helping young adults choose a path for the future that excites them. With Momentum for Youth, we give them the tools that equip them with an awareness that they can carry with them in their lives. That's so valuable.

"Adding to people's life is my passion. I enjoy it when people discover that moving forward is a fun process. That is why I named my business Party Life Coaching. I've started using YouTube, and post a Monday Motivator every week as a way to give back to the community.

"This journey started when I was in primary school. That's when I began writing and giving motivational speeches. When I was at boarding school in Auckland, I was already coaching friends. I then spent a year in California as a Rotary exchange student, and that's when I discovered that life coaching was my passion.

"I had my life coaching training through Momentum here in Tauranga. Their style of face-to-face learning is very personal, and it helped me turn my passion into the professional journey I am now on. It's great to get good feedback after workshops. When people get those aha moments, is what drives me as a coach. It's like the best, most satisfying chocolate cake.

"My bedroom is one of my favourite places. It's a very positive space. I have a whiteboard in there that has a weekly quote. This week it says: "Let go of the fear of being wrong.'' My office is also a place that inspires me. That's where I do my paperwork, and the preparations for the Momentum for Youth classes.

"It's also where I make and edit my YouTube videos, and I do life coaching sessions on Skype, which has opened up an international market. In the chairs in my office seating area, there's an American and a New Zealand pillow. I like to celebrate both cultures. I love America, but New Zealand will always have a very special place in my heart. There's nothing that compares to a New Zealand summer.

"It's important to me to have a balanced lifestyle as my business grows. I love being home, it relaxes me. When I moved here, about two and a half years ago, I made an effort to connect with my neighbours. We go for walks in the valley together, and support one another. There's a lovely community feel.''
