One dead after car and truck crash on State Highway 2 near Whakamārama

State Highway 2 reopened early this morning following yesterday’s fatal crash.

One person died after a car and truck collided near Whakamārama around 3.55pm.

Police said the driver of the car died in the crash near the intersection of Omokoroa Rd.

“The truck driver was unharmed.”

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency said the road was reopened at 4am today.
