Matua Park's old log cabin, beloved by two generations of scouts and guides, is being demolished. Built 35 years ago, it has become surplus to requirements after scouts and guides opted to shift down to the Otumoetai Sport and Recreation's new multi-purpose clubhouse in Fergusson Park. Building materials from the cabin arebeing offered for sale (0274-789-105) and include the 300 logs.
