NZ flag disappears as Waitangi Day nears

Days out from the Waitangi celebrations, the New Zealand flag has been stolen from Greerton Village, prompting a spate of calls from upset residents.
Greerton Village Mainstreet manager Graeme Morrissey said he had fielded at least  six calls  yesterday. 
The  theft was first noticed on Saturday.   Mr Morrissey found the  thieves had broken into the  box housing the rope,  lowered the flag and snipped the security tags.
