"We need our children to watch some incredible tennis, to get inspired. The idea is to get young kids watching some top tennis players. Parents will love this tournament because it is over quickly, so works in with children's attention spans," he said.
"For the players there is no waiting around, no delays - it is fast tennis, sudden deuce games, one set. Every shot counts, the pressure is intense. You need to bring your A-game to the table."
Each Sunday Shootout would be an invitational match which called for interest from players, then a week before the tournament a draw would be announced. There is $1000 prizemoney up for grabs at each tournament.
Tomorrow's men's lineup is headed by former world tour players Justin Megraw, Alexander Klintcharov, Daniel Brown, Rob Reynolds, Hawke's Bay men's tennis No1 Rob Reynolds and Under 14 national singles champion Logan Nathan from Rotorua.
Former Caro Bowl player from Bay of Plenty, Deb Garea, leads the three women players involved.
Helms is pleased with the quality of players that have entered.
"Super impressed with the entrants. We have a great mixture of players with international experience, top local players and up and coming juniors.
"There is a lot of excitement building in the tennis community, as it isn't every day you get to see players of this level compete here, and factoring in the one-set pressure and the prize money will see players focused more than ever.
"Don't forget to wear your Wimbledon whites if you are coming along to watch."
Entry is free for spectators with the action beginning tomorrow at 3.30pm.
