New signs tell history of Tauranga waterfront

A new banner along the Tauranga waterfront will teach passersby a little bit about the history of the area.

The banner was being installed on the containers which separated the playground from the construction work on the tidal steps.

Tauranga City Council's Lucy Brake said there were interesting photographs and it was a great chance for people to learn more about Tauranga's history.

Construction for the redevelopment of the waterfront was ongoing and would include tidal stairs, pier and a pontoon.
